What the work is
A bidet seat replaces the toilet seat and connects to the supply at the fill valve. It is a small job with a large effect on independence, and it is one of the least discussed things on this list.
The complication is power. A heated or fully featured seat needs a receptacle nearby, and in most bathrooms here that means an electrician. Electrical is subcontracted to our licensed electrical partner and we will tell you whether yours needs them before you book.
Non-electric seats exist and work, and for some houses they are the right answer.
What is included
- The seat, fitted and connected to the supply
- A tee and shutoff at the fill valve
- Leak testing
- Showing you the controls and leaving the instructions
What is not
- New receptacles or circuits, which are our licensed electrical partner's work and quoted separately
- Modifying a toilet that will not take a standard seat
- The seat, unless you ask us to supply it
Ask about power first
A bathroom with no receptacle near the toilet is the norm in a lot of the housing stock here. Knowing that before you choose a model saves choosing twice.
What to ask anyone quoting this, us included
- Does this model need power, and is there a receptacle?
- Who does the electrical work if it needs it?
- Will it fit my toilet?
