What the work is
Doing a bathroom in pieces means paying for access four times and living with a room that is half changed for a year. Doing it as one project means one scope, one schedule and one written guarantee.
What goes into it depends on the assessment, not on a package name. A typical scope covers the shower entry, blocking and bars where you actually reach, a seat, the toilet, lighting, and the floor surface.
Everything in it is a service on this site with its own page. Nothing is bundled to hide it.
What is included
- An assessment first, with the scope written before anything is bought
- The shower entry, however your floor requires it to be done
- Blocking through the wet walls, and bars placed to how you move
- A seat, a toilet at the right height, and lighting
- One written guarantee covering the whole job, handed over before we leave
What is not
- Anything not written in the scope you approved
- Painting and decorating beyond making good
- Electrical, which is our licensed electrical partner's and quoted in
- A price before the assessment. We are not going to quote a bathroom over the phone
It starts with the assessment, and the assessment stands alone
You can buy the assessment on its own and take the report to anyone. We would rather you did that than felt committed by having had someone in the house.
Our team includes a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist. That certification belongs to a person, not to a company, and we describe it that way because it is the truth.
What the evidence says
The guide below covers what the research actually shows about home modification and falls, including where the finding is a high-certainty null. We would rather point at that than sell on fear.
What to ask anyone quoting this, us included
- What is in the scope, item by item?
- Can I buy the assessment on its own?
- What does the guarantee cover, and for how long?
