  • The federal charger tax credit is gone. The Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit only covers property placed in service through June 30, 2026. Any page still advertising $1,000 back on a home charger is out of date.1
  • Most Utah EV rebate articles do not apply to this address. Washington County's electric service is split across at least five utilities, and Rocky Mountain Power's programs mostly do not reach St. George. Check which utility serves you before you count on any rebate.1
  • If you are in an HOA, Utah Code § 57-8a-802 says the association may not prohibit a charging system in your own parking space, or in a limited common area space assigned for your exclusive use. It may require an application, and it may require that a licensed electrical contractor do the work.1
  • Heat changes the wire size here. NEC ambient temperature correction factors apply to an exterior wall run, conduit on a south-facing wall, an attic run or a sunlit run to a detached garage, any of which can sit in the 46 to 55 degree Celsius bands on a 115 degree day. A quote written on Salt Lake assumptions comes up short.1
  • A new 240-volt circuit, or a panel or service change, needs an electrical permit and inspection in every Utah jurisdiction, and Utah Code § 58-55-501(4) requires the permit to be pulled by someone licensed for that work. So the permit is pulled by our licensed electrical partner under their own license.1
