What the work is
Stucco is a cement product, and painting it is not the same job as painting siding. It is porous, it holds moisture longer than it looks like it does, and when it is new it is chemically aggressive to ordinary coatings until it has cured.
Cracks come first. Hairline crazing is cosmetic and a thicker coating can bridge it. A crack that runs in a straight line, or that is wide enough to catch a fingernail, is structural movement and coating over it hides a problem rather than fixing one. We show you which is which before quoting, and we say when the honest answer is a stucco repair by someone who does that work.
Efflorescence, the white powdery bloom that appears on masonry, means water is moving through the wall and depositing salts as it evaporates. Coating over it traps the problem and the new finish lifts. It has to be removed and the water source understood first.
Then the choice of finish. A thicker elastomeric-type coating bridges hairline cracking and is a common answer on stucco, but it is not automatically the right one: it is less permeable than standard exterior paint, and on a wall that is getting water from somewhere it can hold moisture in. Which one belongs on your house depends on what the wall is doing, and that is a decision we explain rather than one we default to.

What is different here
Stucco is the default exterior across most of the county's newer subdivisions, which means the same handful of failure patterns repeat from street to street: crazing on the sunny elevations, cracks radiating from window corners, and efflorescence low on a wall where irrigation hits it.
That last one is worth checking before you spend anything on paint. Sprinklers striking a stucco wall several times a week put water into it faster than it can dry, and no coating survives that for long. Moving a head costs nothing next to a repaint.
