What the work is
Interior concrete floors away from the garage are usually smaller jobs with more edges. A laundry room is mostly perimeter. That changes the labor mix — less machine time, more hand work — and it changes what the finished job is judged on, which is the lines rather than the field.
Dust control is the part that matters indoors. Grinding concrete inside a finished house without extraction at the machine puts a fine mineral dust through the whole building, and it gets everywhere. Extraction is not an upgrade.
Appliances and fittings have to come out, and going back in is part of the schedule rather than an afterthought. We will tell you what has to move and what the room is unusable for.
The slab still gets tested. An interior slab on grade has the same relationship with the ground as a basement one does.
What is included
- A moisture test on the slab, with the reading written down
- Grinding with dust extraction at the machine
- Hand work to the perimeter, around pipework and under fittings
- Masking the walls, cabinets and anything adjoining
- A clear account of how long the room is out of use
What is not
- Disconnecting or reconnecting appliances and plumbing. That is coordinated separately
- Making good paint or drywall that was already damaged
- Working around an appliance that cannot be moved. It comes out or the floor stops short of it, and you choose which
