Motion night lighting, bedroom to bath

Low-level motion lighting on the route from the bed to the bathroom, so nobody crosses a dark house feeling for a wall.

One flat fee to find out what is wrong. You are told it on the phone before anyone is dispatched, and it comes off the job if you hire us. Read our Plain Terms

What the work is

The trip from bed to bathroom in the dark is a route people take every night without thinking about it. Lighting it at a low level, on motion, means no fumbling for a switch and no wide-awake overhead light at three in the morning.

Done well it is invisible in daylight and never bright enough to wake anyone up. Done badly it is a row of glare at ankle height.

Where the fittings need new wiring, that is our licensed electrical partner's work and it is quoted in. Plenty of good solutions do not need it.

What is included

  • Walking the actual route with you, at night if that helps
  • Fittings placed and aimed so the floor is lit and the eye is not
  • Motion sensing and timing set with you
  • A written note of the settings

What is not

  • New circuits, switches or hard wiring, which is our licensed electrical partner's work
  • Anything that needs a wall opened, unless we have quoted it
  • Smart-home integration

Aim matters more than brightness

The goal is to see the floor and the doorway, not to light the room. A fitting that shines toward the eye at that hour is worse than no fitting at all.

What to ask anyone quoting this, us included

  • Have you walked the route in the dark?
  • How bright, and aimed where?
  • Does any of this need an electrician?
